WHY200 is the first widebody yacht built by Wally, and the yard sees it as a signal of its ability to push the limits of what is possible with a first design for the industry. The innovative motor yacht combines the comfort and space of a larger displacement yacht with the speed and performance of a semi-displacement. The yacht was developed through a collaboration between the Wally design team led by Luca Bassani and the engineering department of the Ferretti group, with Laurent Giles NA working on naval architecture and Studio A. Vallicelli on interior design .

“We are very proud of WHY200, a yacht which was a bit of a gamble but which rewards us today with a result which exceeds our wildest expectations. says Stefano de Vivo, Managing Director of Wally. “With its wide body design, this 200 GT yacht offers much larger volumes than traditional motor boats, as well as much more living space and stability than its competitors.

“It essentially offers all the advantages of a catamaran but has none of the limitations, namely the lack of volume linked to the main central hull and the mooring problems. This innovative yacht in terms of performance and stability was born from the brilliant vision of Wally, the considerable experience in the construction of hulls of the Ferretti Group, which has designed its hulls “in-house” for more than 20 years, and the collaboration with Laurent Giles Naval Architects.

The yacht remains true to Wally’s design philosophy which focuses on combining form and function through a distinctive and highly recognizable aesthetic, while creating a new, immersive boating experience on the water. WHY200 features a spectacular 4.7m high glass bow that houses a 37m2 master suite overlooking the sea, giving the owner an uninterrupted 270 degree view of the horizon.

The elegant interiors designed by Studio A. Vallicelli are displayed in the exclusive ‘Wally Silver’ color, with a four cabin layout comprising a master cabin, a VIP and two guest cabins. A spectacular one-piece laminated carbon staircase is one of the design highlights, which has a load-bearing function while connecting the three decks and making bulkheads superfluous in the huge 61m2 open living space.

Guests can expect to make the most of their time at sea with the Beach Club, offering a huge lounge on the water. The Beach Club has folding bulwarks to access the sea on three sides, while expanding the living area to 32m2.

“WHY200 is a yacht that will stand out on the international scene both for the essential design that distinguishes Wally yachts and for its innovative concept, which can offer a different sailing experience to the owner” Stefano de Vivo continued. “. It is the ideal yacht to regain possession of its space in complete freedom and in complete safety with family and friends.

Luca Bassani, Founder and Chief Designer of Wally, comments: “Like all wallys, who for 25 years have been ahead of their time and pioneering yacht design, the new compact superyacht WHY200 has the ‘Wow’ factor etched in its DNA.

“The new WHY200 expresses all its innovative power through new architectural elements, which represent a break with the past and with the typical clichés of a motor yacht. Ferretti Group has enabled a concept that has been close to my heart for some time, believing in the success of a bold design that will enhance the owner’s experience on board and represent a turning point in the motor yacht market.
