Exterior work is nearing completion at 456 Greenwich Street, an eight-story hotel in Tribeca. Designed by Stephen B. Jacobs Group with Martin Brudnizki Design Studio as interior designer and developed by Caspi Development, the 94,000 square foot structure will offer 96 rooms operated by the Lucien Barrière Group of the Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet’s Paris. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the building, which is bounded by Greenwich Street to the east, Desbrosses Street to the south and Washington Street to the west.
When we last updated at the end of March, the reinforced concrete superstructure had just finished being completed. Since then, work on the red brick facade and bay windows have almost been completed.
The west side is still partially covered with netting and scaffolding, but work on this elevation should not be too far behind.
The east wall comes straight up to the sidewalk and blends in with the surrounding low-rise buildings.
Photographs taken in early September show the east, south and west elevations largely enclosed in rich red brick and a rectangular window grille with dark mullions. Facade work has not yet started on the ground floor, which remains covered behind construction barriers, gates and fences. The main rendering is the ground floor with floor-to-ceiling glass and a wraparound canopy parallel to the tree-lined sidewalks. This secondary element will be supported by a series of rectangular steel-framed trusses projecting perpendicular to the surface of the brick.
It was previously reported that the next hotel amenities for 456 Greenwich Street will include six food and beverage outlets, a 1,500 square foot interior courtyard, spa, fitness center, meeting space , a rooftop pool and the largest hotel theater in Lower Manhattan that can accommodate over 100 people.
The 456 Greenwich Street completion date has been revised to June 2022.
