The Tejon Indian tribe has announced the design and construction companies it has chosen to work on its $ 600 million casino project near Highway 99, just south of the California city of Bakersfield.

In a press release on Monday, the tribe announced that Los Angeles-based The PENTA Building Group will serve as the general contractor and that Las Vegas-based Klai Juba Wald has been hired as the lead architect.

Friedmutter Group Architecture and Interior Design Studios, who is also based in Las Vegas, was selected as a design architect and interior decorator. All three companies have considerable experience in the design and construction of casino and hospitality facilities.

The Tejon Indian tribe obtained federal recognition in 2012. It has since sought to build a hotel and a casino in partnership with the Florida-based gaming and hospitality center. Hard Rock International, belonging to the Seminole tribe of Florida.

In January, the tribe received long-awaited federal approval for the site on which it plans to develop the complex. The US Department of the Interior also allowed the game to take place at the location. The fate of the draft now lies with California Governor Gavin Newsom, who must endorse the decision within 12 months of its first publication.

If it agrees with this decision, the Home Office can put 306 acres of land in trust for the benefit of the Tejon Indian tribe. The tribe plans to build its casino complex on 52 acres of most of the land.

Unionized construction workers will take care of at least part of the project

Although the tribe did not name all of the companies that will help with the construction of the property, they suggested in their press release that at least some of the work would be run by unionized workers from the host county of Kern.

If Governor Newsom agrees with the federal government’s decision, construction is expected to begin in a year and take about 18 months.

The Tejon Tribe and Hard Rock are planning to build a hotel and casino complex with a 166,500 square foot playground and an 11-story hotel with 400 rooms. The complex will also include a spa and fitness center, 13 dining facilities, a concert hall and “Kern County’s largest conference and meeting space”.

It has also become known that live entertainment will be a key component of the new property, as is the case at all Hard Rock branded resorts across the country.

In addition to the main complex, the tribe has also designated an adjacent 22-acre site for an RV park.

Tribal officials have vowed that the mega-program will have a significant positive impact on the economy of Kern County. The construction is expected to generate 900 jobs, while the station employs over 2,000 people when fully operational.
