Project Day 2022

The 2022 Project Day celebrations organized by the SRM Group of Institutions, showcasing more than 180 projects, at its Tiruchi campus attracted more than 3,000 students from the district and surrounding areas. The projects were set up by SRM Medical College, SRM TRP Engineering College, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, SRM Allied Health Science, SRM Nursing College, SRM Arts and Science College and SRM College of Hotel Management. N. Kalaiselvi, Director of CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, opened the event and delivered a keynote address emphasizing self-reliance in science and technology. S. Sivakumar, President, SRM Tiruchi and Ramapuram Campus, chaired.

Awareness of IPRs

The Intellectual Property Rights Unit of Jamal Mohamed College, in association with NIPAM – KAPILA (National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission – Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness, AICTE, organized a special program of lectures, inviting R. Venkatesan, Senior Examiner of TM and GI Trade Marks Registry, Intellectual Property Office, Chennai, for interaction with students Mr. Venkatesan discussed what constitutes innovative ideas and the patent filing process Around 660 members of the body faculty, students and researchers participated.

MoU signed

Annai Vailankanni Arts and Science College, Thanjavur has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Gnanam School of Business (GSB), Thanjavur to equip students with solid conceptual foundations and instill the professional skills and character to become future leaders. The five-year memorandum of understanding provides for the strengthening of GSB’s expertise in the areas of research, development and consulting.

TNAU Recognition

Final year B.Sc. Agriculture students from Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute (ADAC&RI), Tiruchi won the first prize in the program workshop “Digitalization of Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE)” organized by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore. The students excelled in the competition under the theme “TNAU Technology Adoption” and received the top prize worth ₹10,000 and certificates from Vice Chancellor V. Geethalakshmi. The workshop was in the context of the RAWE program, under which students of IV B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture are trained through their internships in different villages in the state, to make them confident in the pursuit of their careers. The winning ADAC and RI team was placed in Veppanthatai block, Perambalur, said college dean C. Vanniarajan.

Kings Project Expo ’22

A total of 57 projects were showcased at Kings Project Expo’22 organized by Kings College of Engineering in Punakulam. The best projects from different strands were shortlisted and awarded cash prizes and certificates. D. Kumar, Professor at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology, Vallam, delivered the keynote address and inaugurated the exhibition. Principal Vijaya Selvi presided.
