CONSTRUCTION OFFER PROJECT ADVERTISEMENT: East Burke High School Interior Office Space Renovations for Burke County Public Schools, NC Offer Open Time: September 17, 2021 – 1pm :30 a.m. Location: BCPS Facilities Services Office 412 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655 Mandatory pre-offer conference: Monday, August 30, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at East Burke High School (meet all in front parking lot) This is for the receipt of a one-time offer for the Burke County Public Schools Administrative Office RENOVATION WORK (interior) at East Burke High School, East Burke Blvd., Connelly Springs, NC 28612. Sealed offers will be received and will be open, read aloud at the BCPS Facilities Services Office at 412 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC on September 17, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. Only experienced bidders with proven experience will be allowed to bid on this project. Project Architect Bakhtiar S. Alam, AIA, will administer the opening of tenders in the presence of BCPS officials, Mr. Kevin Herron, Deputy Director of Ancillary Services and Mark Buckner, Head of Maintenance. The scope of the project is the demolition of the existing partition walls, doors, plumbing system and other fixed fixtures as shown in the demolition drawing. The contractor shall remove all debris to a location designated by the Burke County Building Inspection. The contractor shall supply and install all new load-bearing metal frame walls, interior non-load-bearing partition walls over the existing concrete slab. Install the ceiling framing according to the structural drawings. Furnish and install two (2) new ADA compliant toilets as shown in the drawings. Install a new heating and ventilation system as specified. The HVAC system must be a Mitsubishi Electric (Trane) City Multi system. An alternative manufacturer and EQUAL can be considered. Design and install a sprinkler system in accordance with NFPA. Burke County Public School Facility Services will install the electrical system, finished floor and fire alarm system. All wall finishes will be in accordance with the project manual and Burke County Public School standards. In addition, the contractor must install an entrance security enclosure as per the drawing. Provide all materials and associated work to complete the construction of the offices. The general contractor will have the opportunity to review and assess existing conditions and drawings to become familiar with the interior of the building. The tender documents will be made available to the contractor for review at the pre-tender and postface conference at the office of architects. Approximately 6,307 square feet of interior space will be constructed in accordance with the drawings and the project manual. The cost of the bid documents will be non-refundable of seventy-five dollars ($ 75) for hard copies and thirty dollars ($ 30) for electronic files.
