Amazon has launched the Intellectual Property Accelerator (IP Accelerator) program in the United Arab Emirates, making it easier and cheaper for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to obtain trademarks, protect their brands and fight goods infringing on Amazon.ae.

Available to all brands selling on Amazon.ae, IP Accelerator directly connects SME owners in the UAE to an organized network of local law firms charging discounted, pre-negotiated rates on key services, giving SMBs the access to legal and general intellectual property advice that may otherwise be prohibitively expensive or difficult to find. To date, participating law firms in the UAE are SABA IP and Cedar White Bradley (CWB).

Ronaldo Mouchawar, Amazon’s Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, said: “At Amazon, we are committed to supporting sellers of all sizes, innovating and introducing new resources for help grow their online business with confidence and continue to connect with millions of customers. Today, we’re excited to launch the IP Accelerator program, another tool that will help businesses save time and effort, while protecting their brands and gaining customer trust. We’re also excited to launch this new program as sellers prepare to delight customers during the year-end shopping season, which includes White Friday.

The expansion of the IP Accelerator program in the UAE will allow businesses to connect with law firms and register a trademark with the UAE Ministry of Economy, making it easier for SMEs to obtain and at a lower cost of intellectual property rights, to protect their brands and fight against counterfeits.

The program facilitates the process by working with attorneys skilled in drafting trademark registration applications and can help remove common obstacles that could otherwise further delay the issuance of a registration.

In addition to IP Accelerator, Amazon’s brand protection tools help businesses of all sizes protect their brand and intellectual property even when their trademark application is pending. Amazon Brand Registry is a free service that provides SMBs with powerful tools to help them manage and protect their brand and intellectual property rights in Amazon stores.

Entrants benefit from Amazon’s automated data-driven protections that proactively remove suspected infringing or inaccurate content, as well as tools for brands to report suspected violations. Enrollment in Brand Registry also gives brands greater influence over the product information displayed on Amazon’s product detail pages to help customers make confident and informed purchasing decisions. cause.
